Tanker truck smashes car

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - Police are investigating a dramatic tanker truck crash at Needmore Road and Old Troy Pike.

Investigators say the truck was turning right onto Old Troy Pike when the driver somehow lost control and struck a car stopped at a red light.  The rig then flipped over onto another vehicle, killing the driver.

The driver of the first car was not seriously hurt. 

The truck driver was taken to Miami Valley Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  Officials say it is too early to determine whether or not charges will be filed against the driver; however, they do believe speed could have been a factor in the accident.

The victim's name has not been released pending notification of her family.
