DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - Gusty winds brought in the much needed rain Tuesday afternoon, but also left behind a mess for many homeowners.

The fast moving storm left a trail of destruction in parts of The Miami Valley.

On Sintz Road in Springfield, a tree snapped in the wind, landed on a power line and blocked the road to traffic.

First responders put up caution tape around dangerously hanging limbs.

Another tree was uprooted in German Township in Clark County.

That one ultimately landed on part of a trailer home.

Residents said the aftermath of the storm was unbelievable.

Barbara Houck of German Township said, "It was raining so hard the rain was just coming down in sheets it was very bad."

Officials from Dayton Power and Light said at one point 1000 homes were left without power, but they expected to have the power restored by midnight.
