Springboro man accused of robbing bank

Kerns is being held in the Greene County Jail

BEAVERCREEK, Ohio (WDTN) - Beavercreek police have identified the suspect arrested in connection to a bank robbery Sept. 8, 2010.

Zachary D. Kerns, 22, of Springboro, Ohio has been charged with robbing the US Bank at the corner of North Fairfield Road and Dayton-Xenia Road just before 1:30 p.m.

Kerns was caught a short time later after witnesses pointed him out to police.

"The cops came around and I said, "Hey, this guy is hiding back here." He was, he kept looking around, like looking in the parking lot, looking for somebody. And right then they said, "Hey, you!" and he took off running across the parking lot," said witness Mark Peshabo.

Kerns is being held in the Greene County Jail.
