CENTERVILLE, Ohio (WDTN) - Students at a Centerville elementary school saved their pennies to help a classmate battle a rare disease.
Their counselor showed her support in a rather "hairy" way.
Stingley students cheered as Debbie Grisso got a haircut in honor of Cameron Hartman.
The 10-year-old is battling "Dock 8", a rare mutation disease.
Grisso struck a deal with students to raise money for Cameron's treatment.
"I thought because Cameron has no hair, so I knew he'd enjoy it and they did it we got over the $2,000 we actually got $2,200," said Debbie Grisso, school counselor.
Cameron is recovering at a Cincinnati Hospital, but his grandparents taped the event so he could watch for himself.
