HUBER HEIGHTS, Ohio (WDTN) - Spencer Wells gets fired-up about his truck -  and about his chances of winning the Savings Race the College Bound Edition.

"During the Savings Race I'm just hoping to gain a better understanding of financial security and how to spend money wisely," Wells said.

As a cross country star at Waynesville High School, Spencer has had a few scholarship opportunities, but hopes the discipline he's learned as a runner will help him win the $10,000 grand prize.

"I have had a few offers but I figured I'd just concentrate on academics in college, not athletics."

Team Spencer and the Staffan family are doing great said their Savings Race coach. They already had a budget in place we're just reworking it.
