TROY, Ohio (WDTN) - Rick Santorum, a candidate for the 2012 Republican Party presidential nomination, made a stop in Troy, OH Saturday.

The former Pennsylvania senator was greeted by Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine and more than 100 supporters at K's Hamburger Shop.

Santorum is battling Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich for the Buckeye state.  Romney and Gingrich have also made recent appearances in Ohio.

Santorum won the caucuses in Iowa, Minnesota, Colorado and the Missouri primary.

The candidate said he is aiming to paint a positive vision for the country.

"That's what we bring to this equation," said Santorum.  "Our vision is why we are here and competitive in Ohio today."

The candidate spent approximately 25 minutes at the restaurant, shaking hands with supporters and signing autographs.

Santorum's next stop will be in Lima and then Bowling Green.

According to his official campaign website, he will then be back in Dayton Monday, March 5.  There will be a rally held at the Dayton Christian School in Miamisburg at 9:30 a.m.
