Runner honored by Ohio Senate

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WDTN) - Meghan Vogel's story already went viral, garnering national attention for her sportsmanship.
The Ohio Senate is now joining the fanfare to honor the West Liberty-Salem High School distance runner.
You couldn't miss the video and photos of her at the state track meet. She helped a struggling competitor cross the finish line in the 3,200-meter race. Vogel told 2 NEWS she didn't think twice. She knew she had to help.
The Senate recognized Meghan Tuesday.
“Meghan’s selfless act of sportsmanship showed her true character and is an inspiration to us all,” said Senator Keith Faber (R-Celina), who presented Vogel with a Senate resolution recognizing her accomplishments. “She is a champion in every sense of the word, and we in the Senate are proud to honor her achievements.”
Vogel already won a state title that day in the 1,600-meter race, but her real victory was in losing.
