Report cards not complete

Superintendent says critical factors are missing

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (WDTN) - The Springfield superintendent is warning parents not to take the preliminary report cards from the state at face value.

David Estrop used a photo of The Mona Lisa with her face blocked out to show how much of the reports are missing.

He said it's impossible to get a clear picture with so many critical factors missing from the reports issued on Wednesday, like attendance and performance indexes.

Estrop said, "I'm going to use a sports analogy. It's like calling the game over at half-time. We don't know all the scores yet."

Estrop said he can tell from the reports that the kids are doing better.

He estimates the district will receive an effective rating when all the data is released.
