TROTWOOD, Ohio (WDTN) - Officials are moving forward with their case against the grandson in connection to the death of a Trotwood woman.
The body of Regina Davis was found Monday inside her Natalie Court home.
Police said at a news conference Thursday afternoon that Davis' grandson, 21-year-old Dylan Harrison, is their suspect. But they don't know why he would kill his 69-year-old grandmother.
"It could be a lot of different reasons. We're not going to speculate why," said Trotwood Det. Sgt. Joseph McCrary. "My detectives are working hard on finding out exactly why. We're confident we have the right person for this homicide."
Davis' body was found in her bathtub after neighbors called because they hadn't heard from her in a while.
An autopsy later revealed suspicious marks on her body, and it was determined she had been strangled.
Police say Harrison was the first person they talked with because he did live with Davis at times, but was in the process of moving out.
Officers said Harrison has had run-ins with the law in the past. He was arrested for burglary in Cuyahoga County, but police said it appears he wasn't convicted.
Harrison is being held in the Montgomery County Jail on a murder charge.
