COLUMBUS, Ohio (WDTN) - The Ohio State Highway Patrol says its latest statewide enforcement initiative was a success.
Troopers say Operation Shield Ohio was conducted from February 11 to February 15 across Ohio.
They say it resulted in 98 new drug cases, 42 of which are felonies. Troopers seized more than 39 pounds of cocaine, more than 17 pound of marijuana, 124 grams of heroin, 83 grams of crack cocaine, 1 gram of methamphetamine, and 3,643 illegal prescription pills. They also seized two guns and recovered two stolen vehicles.
“Successful enforcement efforts, like the most recent Operation Shield, illustrate the collective power of removing drugs and wanted felons from our communities,” said Colonel John Born, Patrol superintendent. “Ohio is in the midst of a drug abuse epidemic and it is important that we work together to solve this problem.”
The Ohio State Highway Patrol asks you to call #677 to report drug activity.
