'Eye blinks' murder trial delayed again

CINCINNATI (AP) - A long-delayed Ohio trial in which a dying man's videotaped eye blinks are to be used as testimony against the man charged with murdering him has been postponed again.

Ricardo Woods is accused of fatally shooting David Chandler on Oct. 28, 2010. The 34-year-old's trial was to start Monday.

A prosecutor's spokesman says the trial is delayed until April 29 as the court deals with recent motions. They include one filed by the national Innocence Project supporting the defense's request that the blinks not be allowed as evidence.

Chandler was paralyzed from his injuries and could communicate only with his eyes. The judge earlier ruled that jurors could see the police interview with Chandler in which prosecutors say Chandler identified Woods by blinking responses.

The defense insists the blinks weren't reliable.
