Ohio massage parlors search warrants

WARREN, Ohio (AP) - Eight northeast Ohio massage parlors suspected as fronts for prostitution would close for a year under an agreement with Warren city officials who sought to shut them down.

The tentative agreement requires the spas to remove signs from their buildings and give up their licenses during that time.

The city began taking steps to revoke the licenses and had subpoenaed spa clients to testify as prosecutors took legal action. The agreement was negotiated outside of court.

An attorney for some of the spas tells The Vindicator in Youngstown (http://bit.ly/Ok8JsE ) he wanted to keep some information off the court record because he anticipates criminal charges in the case.

Authorities searched the spas in late May after a lengthy investigation and found used condoms and about $90,000 in cash.
