PITTSBURGH (AP) - Federal prosecutors in Pittsburgh say an Ohio man has been arrested on federal charges that he posted an anonymous YouTube video and a follow-up comment claiming to have stolen computer records from the University of Pittsburgh.
Twenty-four-year-old Alexander Waterland, of Loveland, Ohio, is scheduled to appear before a federal magistrate in Cincinnati early Wednesday afternoon.
Investigators say Waterland posted the message using the computer name AnonOperative13 claiming that a computer hacking group known as "Anonymous" had stolen records of students, faculty and alumni from university computers.
The messages demanded that school officials apologize for not "protecting" students from a string of dozens of bomb threats that disrupted classes and dorms for weeks earlier this year.
Pitt officials haven't immediately commented on the arrest.
It's unclear if the suspect has an attorney.
