COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - President Barack Obama's schedule calls for ice cream and grassroots campaigning in a Thursday bus tour across northern Ohio.

His campaign says he will begin his Ohio trip in Maumee, near Toledo, at the Wolcott House Museum. He then stops at an ice cream social at Sandusky's Washington Park, followed by an evening rally at James Day Park in the Cleveland suburb of Parma. His bus tour will continue Friday in Pennsylvania.

Obama spoke at Cuyahoga Community College in Cleveland on June 14, while Republican challenger Mitt Romney was in Cincinnati. Romney followed June 17 with a three-city bus tour from Brunswick in northeast Ohio to Newark in central Ohio and Troy in western Ohio.

Ohio is expected to be a pivotal, hotly contested state in the November election.
