Dayton, Ohio (WDTN) - Governor John Kasich toured a Dayton business Thursday promoting his plan to cut income and small business taxes, but raise other taxes to make up the difference.

The governor visited Early Express. He calls his proposal Ohio's Jobs Budget 2.0.

At Early Express they can print and mail just about anything for you, except money. Owner Cindy Woodward believes things are about to improve after the news Ohio Governor John Kasich delivered during a panel discussion at the company.

"I think it gives small businesses hope," said Cindy Woodward, Early Express.

With the ink barely dry on his budget proposal, Kasich is going across the state to tout the 50 percent tax cut he says it gives small businesses like Early Express. The hope is those businesses will use that money to hire more workers.

"It's all about generating economic growth in the state of Ohio and that's what this plan will do," said Governor Kasich.

Kasich's budget also provides a 20 percent income tax cut for everyone and a drop in the sales tax rate from 5.5 percent to 5 percent.

"There's probably never been a budget like this in modern times."

T pay for much of it, Kasich plans to start charging sales tax on everything from funeral services to haircuts, things critics say will hurt lower income Ohioans.

Kasich thinks the numbers will add up for more than just small businesses in the end.

"Economic growth raises all families. Economic growth gives everybody in Ohio and opportunity."

The budget still has to be passed by the Ohio House and Senate.
