COLUMBUS, Ohio (WDTN) - A victory for Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted.
An appeals court just put the attempt to expand provisional ballot counting on hold.
What that means for you is if you wind up voting in the wrong place or fail to show proper ID, your vote is in jeopardy.
Provisional ballots are used when there are questions about voters' eligibility.
Husted had this to say about the ruling, "With six days to go before Election Day, I am pleased that the Court has granted a stay in this case so that I can give the 88 county boards of elections the clear direction they need on the rules for processing provisional ballots," said Husted. "The decision of the lower court was outside of the scope of the original litigation and had the potential to cause significant problems and confusion on Election Day. Voters could have cast ballots wherever they wanted to in the county, regardless of their eligible precinct."
