TOLEDO, Ohio (WDTN) - Three California men were arrested Wednesday morning on the Ohio Turnpike with what Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers said was 65 pounds of hydroponic marijuana.
The suspects were stopped by troopers west of Toledo for a following too close violation. Troopers said they observed criminal indicators and a Patrol drug-sniffing canine alerted to the vehicle. A probable cause search uncovered the marijuana sealed in vacuum sealed packages and concealed in the bumpers of the vehicle and inside the door panels.
The driver, Jonathan Almanzo Soeun, 20, and passenger, Da Seth, 25, both of Stockton, Calif., and passenger, Walter Lee Rath, 21, of West Sacramento, Calif., were arrested charged with drug abuse and trafficking in drugs.
Troopers estimated the drugs to be worth $416,000.
