GREENVILLE, Ohio (WDTN) - There is something about Greenville that Ohio Magazine just loves.
The publication named the Darke County city one of the five best hometowns in Ohio.
Magazine editors chose Greenville for its family-friendly events, green spaces, a variety of shops and entertainment options and a homespun sense of community.
The editors says Greenville has the big-city amenities, but keeps a hometown feel.
The other communities that make up the list include Findlay, Gallipolis, Grove City and Peninsula.
Each of Ohio Magazine's Best Hometowns will be featured in the November, January and July issues, showing readers the unique destinations each town offers.
Ohio Magazine solicited nominations and conducted site visits across the state to determine the honorees. The editors evaluated the nominees in six categories: Community Spirit, Education, Entertainment, Health and Safety, Business Environment and Culture and Heritage to help finalize their selections.
