COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Ohio Gov. John Kasich was involved in what his spokesman described as a minor, four-vehicle fender bender just outside of downtown Columbus.
Kasich spokesman Rob Nichols said Tuesday the Republican governor was not injured, but his doctor was going to examine him to be sure. Kasich's staff, a JobsOhio employee and the state trooper driving the vehicle were also not hurt.
Nichols said he was not aware of any injuries from the occupants of other vehicles.
Kasich's state-owned sport utility vehicle was traveling northbound on Interstate 71 around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, when traffic was moving slowly.
Nichols said a charter bus rear-ended the vehicle directly behind Kasich's SUV, leading to a series of collisions that pushed the SUV into the vehicle in front of it.
Columbus police are investigating.
