Dayton ranks 36th for unemployment

DAYTON, Ohio (DAYTON BUSINESS JOURNAL) - Dayton Business Journal: The Dayton region’s July unemployment rate of 7.8 percent is the 36th lowest among the nation’s largest metro areas, according to a new report from On Numbers.

The Miami Valley was one of 43 large metros (population of 500,000 or more) with a jobless rate of less than 8 percent.

Dayton posted a better jobless rate than metros such as Toledo (8.1 percent), St. Louis (8.2) and Louisville (8.3 percent).
