WILMINGTON, Ohio (WDTN) - A Clinton County deputy shot a 14-year-old suspect following a chase Thursday morning.
A van was spotted driving erratically in Wilmington, but when deputies tried to pull it over, the driver sped off, later crashing on Champlin Road, near US 68, according to Clinton County Sheriff Ralph Fizer Jr.
Fizer said the van hit a tree and two different cruisers, then began moving toward a deputy standing outside of his vehicle, who fired shots into the van. That's when deputies realized a teenage boy was behind the wheel.
The teen was treated and released from the hospital and is now in custody.
His name has not been released.
