CINCINNATI, Ohio (AP) - A casino under construction in Cincinnati has announced that its first restaurant will be Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville.
Buffett long has sold out annual concerts in the Queen City and was in town Thursday playing at Riverbend Music Center.
Officials with the $400 million casino say that the 14,000-square-foot Margaritaville will be one of four restaurants at the complex. The casino is more than 60 percent finished and slated to open in the spring.
The Cincinnati area is where Buffett fans began being called "Parrotheads." The term was coined in 1985 after Buffett and his band looked into the crowd at Kings Island amusement park and saw a sea of Hawaiian shirts and parrot hats.
Buffett says in a news release that "Cincinnati is simply where it all started."
