MIDDLETOWN, Ohio (WDTN) - A disturbance broke out in a Middletown courtroom Wednesday as a southwestern Ohio couple faced arraignment in connection with the dragging death of a Middletown woman .
The judge set bond for Dustin Watkins at $210,000 and bond for Maria Misquez at $100,000.
Friends and family of Kristina Purdin began shouting at friends of Watkins and Misquez another following the arraignment.
Police say Purdin was standing alongside a vehicle, arguing with its driver when her arm got caught in the seat belt as the driver pulled away. She was dragged about 40 feet and then run over by the car.
The driver sped off.
Purdin was rushed to the hospital where she later died.
Watkins faces charges of fleeing the scene of an accident, tampering with evidence and possession of drug abuse instruments.
Misquez faces a charge of complicity.
