Boy Scouts adult leader found dead at Ohio camp

PIONEER, Ohio (AP) - A man serving as an adult leader with the Boy Scouts of America at a children's summer camp in northwest Ohio has been found dead in his tent.

The Williams County Sheriff's Office says the body of 56-year-old Daniel L. Kretz of Toledo was discovered sometime after 3 p.m. Tuesday.

The Erie Shores Council of the Boy Scouts organization says the man was found at his campsite tent at Pioneer Scout Reservation in Pioneer. Erie Shores CEO Ed Caldwell says Kretz appears to have died in his sleep.

Caldwell says pastors and counselors have been available to meet with Scout leaders and camp participants.

The summer camp, near the borders of Michigan and Indiana, is hosting about 500 children this week.
