Vice President Joe Biden is calling attention to the high cost of a college education and the Obama administration's efforts to make it more affordable during a visit the key presidential swing state of Ohio.
Biden and Education Secretary Arne Duncan on Thursday visited Lincoln High School in the Columbus suburb of Gahanna.
Duncan says a higher education has never been more important than now, though it has never been more expensive.
The administration notes that more than two-thirds of Ohio college students take out loans to pay for school, and they graduate with an average debt of over $27,000.
The trip is Biden and Duncan's second stop to a presidential battleground state in as many months to talk about college affordability. Both visited Florida last month.
Millions turned their attention skyward to view a rare "ring of fire' eclipse.
