COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Ohio's newest and largest casino is open.

The first visitors clapped and cheered as the $400 million Hollywood Casino opened to the public Monday amid growing competition.

The casino on the west side of Columbus is situated just about 10 miles from the first Ohio horse racing track to get slots-like gambling machines.

The new casino, owned by Penn National Gaming Inc., boasts about 3,000 slot machines, a poker room and other table games. It also has event spaces and four restaurants.

Operators say it's expected to draw 3 million visitors a year.

It is the third of four voter-approved casinos in Ohio. Casinos in Cleveland and Toledo opened several months ago, and one in downtown Cincinnati debuts next spring.
