CINCINNATI (AP) — Police have arrested a man they suspect of fleeing from a Cincinnati police-involved shooting that left one man fatally shot by an officer and another wounded.
Police say Officer Orlando Smith fatally shot 19-year-old Dontez O'Neal on Nov. 21 after O'Neal shot at Smith from a vehicle. Police said officers were following that vehicle after an undercover drug buy.
Police say they arrested Gerry Branner of Cincinnati on Thursday evening in connection with the shooting, which did not injure the officer.
Police say the 22-year-old Branner is suspected of also shooting at Smith. It was unclear Thursday if Branner has an attorney yet.
A third man in the vehicle who police say was wounded in the arm has pleaded not guilty to drug trafficking charges.
