COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - The state says it hopes to release more school report-card data in the next week.

The Ohio Board of Education voted Tuesday to release more data in an online spreadsheet. The board said it expects to make the information public by Oct. 17.

A wide investigation by the state auditor into the reporting of student-attendance data by schools has delayed the release of full report cards. That usually happens in August.

Some school districts are suspected of improperly removing low-performing students from attendance rolls to boost school performance rankings and employee bonuses.

So far, only a limited amount of data has been released in spreadsheet form. The state won't finalize the report cards until the investigation is complete.
