CLEVELAND (AP) - Sheriff's deputies say four people were hospitalized after a car crashed into the back of an Amish buggy southwest of Cleveland.
WJW-TV reports that a car driven by a 33-year-old man slammed into the back of the horse-drawn carriage Wednesday afternoon, then hit an SUV coming from the opposite direction.
A 2-year-old child in the carriage was flown to a hospital with serious injuries. The other occupant, a 24-year-old woman, suffered injuries that were not life-threatening.
Two people in the SUV also were hospitalized. The driver of the car was not injured. The horse was spooked and ran from the scene.
Deputies say alcohol or texting were not factors in the crash. It remains under investigation.
