DAYTON, OH (WDTN) - In this economic environment.. just landing a job is difficult. But once you do, heading into a new work environment can be even harder. Here's what you need to know so can fit into your work place.

Compatibility in the working world is almost as important as the job itself. "If it's not a good fit people can get easily distracted it can affect morale and performance in the position because they're not focusing on the actual job, but maybe focusing on all the other things that may not be as important." says Jill Crowe, Regional Vice President for Robert Half International.

According to a recent study by Office Team, nearly one in three workers believe getting acclimated to a new work environment is their biggest challenge of a new job. It's often what's not in the handbook that makes the transition difficult. "Make sure you sit down with your direct supervisor and make sure you know what's important to them, how you're doing in the job, solicit feedback from your coworkers from your supervisor just to make sure you're doing the right stuff." says Crowe. Here are some other ways to ease back into the workplace. Refresh your skills. Make sure you're up to date on the software you'll be using. Adjust your daily schedule a week before you go to work, so you can get into a routine. Make the rounds. Introduce yourself to the people you'll be working with.
Watch and learn. Pay attention to how others act. And play it cool, project confidence in everything you do.

Workers are having to make transitions more often as many companies are hiring temporary employees. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, 52-thousand temporary jobs were created just last month.
