XENIA, Ohio (WDTN) - A man who eluded police for more than a decade has pled guilty to attempted murder.

In court March 15, 2010, Chi Du admitted to the attempted murder in 1997 of his ex-girlfriend Thuy Mai.

Investigators tracked him down in Toronto in 2008, where he was working under an assumed name at a cellular phone store.

Du attacked Mai and slit her throat in October, 1997 as she and a friend left the library at Wright State University, where Mai was a student.

Prosecutors said Du was unable to let her go after they broke up and was stalking her before the incident.

Du will be sentenced for the attempted murder of Thuy My on March 26.

He still faces an attempted murder charge for the attack of her friend, Eric Borton.
