FRANKIN, Ohio (WDTN) - A tree toppled by last weekend's storms is causing headaches for some Franklin residents who live in the 100 block of Art Avenue.
"Everyday you have to look at it whether you like it or not," said Virgil Gibson.
He had a front row seat to Mother Nature's fury June 29th.
"I was sitting on the back deck and I watched it fall right over and I grabbed my wife and said look at this tree right here."
The storm was so strong that it sent limbs from the tree into a neighbor's home causing serious damage to its siding.
Franklin City Officials believe the land is owned by an individual citizen, so the damage done to the neighboring home is an issue between those parties' insurance companies. However, removal of this eye sore is a different story.
"Oh yeah, it ruins the whole street, can't get nobody to take care of it."
The city sent a notice to the land owner about removing the tree.
If it's not removed soon, the city will do it and bill the land owner.
The city also plans to condemn the home.
