MAINEVILLE, Ohio (WDTN) - An inside job went awry in Warren County Tuesday. You might categorize this one in the "dumb crime" category, but you decide.
Warren County deputies were called to the United Dairy Farmers in Maineville. The clerk told them he was robbed at knifepoint.
Here's where it gets interesting. The clerk told deputies that he knew the suspect. Turns out the two are roommates. The clerk then gave it up to deputies that he informed the suspect about the layout of the store. He even told investigators that he told the suspect the best time to strike.
Zachary Roberts of Maineville is now charged with aggravated robbery. Tyler Madden, also of Maineville, is charged with complicity to commit aggravated robbery.
The knife and stolen money were recovered.
Both men are in the Warren County Jail, probably in separate cells instead of roommates.
