LEBANON, Ohio (WDTN) - A Hamilton, Ohio woman has been charged with trying to smuggle drugs into the Warren Correctional Institution.
Loretta J. Cottey, 53, was arrested Tuesday after officials were tipped that Cottey would be attempting to convey drugs to her son, an inmate, during a scheduled visit.
Troopers confronted her about her involvement and she voluntarily surrendered eight small balloons containing approximately two grams of suspected marijuana in each, 58 Klonopin tablets, and two $100 bills.
If convicted, Cottey could face up to six years in prison and a $15,000 fine.
