URBANA, OH (WDTN) - 2 NEWS has learned that the city of Urbana has tentatively accepted concessions proposed by firefighters that would save their jobs.

A union representative says firefighters will take pay cuts and reductions in their benefits so that they can keep the department intact. However, the union representing Urbana police says it is not agreeing to concessions and some officers could receive layoff notices as early as today.

2 NEWS is still waiting to hear back from the city administrator about budget cuts and the impact on public safety.
