SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (WDTN) - Several businesses are getting a helping hand from the State of Ohio.

More than 500 new jobs are being created in Springfield as a result.

The Ohio Controlling Board gave a special grant to a company called 31 Gifts.  It will use $250,000 in assistance to expand.   31 Gifts sells exclusive handbags and fashion accessories.

State Senator Chris Widener says the grant is a welcome boost to the Clark County economy.

Tech-2 also received an $800,000 loan. That money will create 22 new jobs at the packaging company.

And, the state directed $1-million to Ohio Stamping and Machine. It will use the loan to add 10 news jobs and save 37 more.
