CLARK COUNTY, Ohio (WDTN) - Two people are dead following a crash in Clark County, when according to investigators, the driver of a pickup truck went left of center and slammed head-on into an SUV.

The driver of the truck, 45-year-old Robert Johnson of London, Ohio, was killed on impact.

The driver of the SUV, .39-year-old Tricia Wirth, survived the initial impact and was taken by Careflight to Miami Valley Hospital where she later died.

Wirth's two-year-old daughter, Brianna Compston, who was strapped in a car seat, survived.

Troopers said Wirth was headed south on Morris Road and likely never saw the truck until it was too late because she was driving over a hill.

"I don't know if it was passing. I don't know if an animal ran out in front of it or what, said OSP Sgt. Terry Bush. "At this point we're trying to figure out why the northbound car was in the southbound lanes."

Troopers are still investigating the crash.
