SIDNEY, Ohio (WDTN) - The Sidney School District met Thursday evening to discuss safety inside its classrooms.
School Superintendent, John Scheu, said the meeting would share options with parents about security measures in all the schools. He said the district also wanted to hear the community's ideas and concerns.
Sidney Police Chief Kevin Gessler and Shelby County Sheriff John Lenhart attended the meeting as part of a committee assigned to address the issue.
The shooting rampage in Newtown, Connecticut sparked the committee's renewed interest in making schools a safe place for everyone.
Our Jackie Sprague was at tonight's meeting. She lays out the the options discussed on 2 NEWS at 10 on Dayton's CW and on 2 NEWS at 11.
