Online death claim lands man in jail

SIDNEY, Ohio (WDTN) - A Sidney man was arrested Wednesday, accused of trying to pull one over on YouTube watchers.

Police say Robert Barga identified himself online as "Josh". He claimed he was about to lose his house and his kids due to overwhelming bills following his wife's death.

Barga's wife is very much alive.

Officers searched his Main Street home and took away computers and counterfeit money that one child's father says was used to pay for a school function.

"When the school turned it into the bank, the bank said it was fake and they knew where the $20 came from so they called us into the school and then called us down to the police station and asked the boys a lot of questions to find out where it was coming from," said Jim Overton.

Police say Barga and his wife, Christina, also face charges for running an illegal taxi service.
