SIDNEY, Ohio (WDTN) - A former Sidney man convicted of murder will be getting out of prison.
Our partners at the Sidney Daily News say Jay Crider, 51, was granted parole Thursday by the Ohio Parole Board.
He was convicted in the 1983 murder of Rebecca Snider. Crider told police he killed his girlfriend and directed officers to her apartment where they found her body.
He served his time at the Allen County Correctional Institution.
Her family objected, posting an online petition to stop the release.
But as of now, Crider will be released around April 22.
