SIDNEY, Ohio (WDTN) - Firefighters in Sidney kept damage to a a home on fire to a minimum late Wednesday night.

When Sidney Firefighters arrived to the house on East Poplar Street, they found light smoke and fire coming from the eave and peak areas along the roof line.

Firefighters said the source of the smoke was a fire in the attic area of the home.  The cause of the fire is an unintentional failure/malfunction of the homes electrical system.

Damage to the home is estimated at $350, however roof damage is causing the residents to seek shelter elsewhere. Red Cross is assisting.

No injuries were reported by civilians or firefighters.
