SHELBY CO., Ohio (WDTN) - Troopers are investigating after a crash seriously injures two Shelby County teens.

Darren Gephart, 16, of Ft. Loramie, and Taylor Timmerman, 16, of Ft. Loramie were transported by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital with serious injuries after their pick-up truck crashed.

According to officials, the accident happened around 12:30 a.m. Sunday on Dawson Road in McLean Township.

Troopers stated the black Chevrolet pick-up truck was traveling southbound on Dawson Road, when the driver lost control, drove off the road, and struck a utility pole. The truck rolled and came to a rest on the right side of the truck.

Toxicology reports will determine if alcohol was a factor in the accident.

Charges are pending at this time.

The crash remains under investigation.
