EATON, Ohio (WDTN) - Ohio State Highway Patrol Troopers are investigating a fatal crash that occurred on Lexington-Salem Road in Twin Township around 7 p.m. Saturday.

44-year-old Sean T. Hercutt from New Lebanon was driving a blue Dodge Dakota westbound on Lexington-Salem Road.

Troopers said he drove off the right side of the road, overcorrected, and then drove off the left side of the road and hit some trees.

Lora J. Sandlin, age 46, from Dayton, was a front seat passenger in the vehicle. Sandlin was pronounced dead at the scene by the Preble County Coroner’s Office.

Hercutt was transported to the Miami Valley Hospital by Care-Flight with serious injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.

Toxicology results to determine whether alcohol was a factor in the crash are pending.

Charges are pending at this time.
