EATON, Ohio (WDTN) - A big push Thursday to save the historic armory and tank that many consider an iconic symbol of Eaton.
Supporters gathered at Fort Saint Riley park to come up with ways to reach their goal.
They watched with disgust back in April when the tank was taken away from the armory to be refurbished in Columbus.
They say it's a proud reminder of lifetimes of service to our country.
"In 1970, I stood in front of that armory, in front of that tank, to wait for the bus to take me off when I was drafted, when I left," said Ernie Root, Save the Armory and Tank.
The Save the Armory group has a face book page should you want to check it out.
