NEW PARIS, Ohio (WDTN) - A New Paris man is under investigation following allegations he raped a girl under the age of 13.

Christopher Scott, 38, was arrested June 18 after deputies questioned the man at the Preble County Sheriff's Office.

"We received a phone call from an undisclosed person who expressed their concern with the relationship between Scott and the victim," said Deputy Joshua Wing.  "Mr. Scott turned himself in after he learned we were looking for him."

Scott is facing eight felony charges including three counts of rape, one count of sexual battery, two counts of sexual imposition, one count of gross sexual imposition and one count of importuning.

According to deputies, Scott is accused of sexually abusing the girl since she was 6-years-old.  Deputies are not releasing the victim's current age; however, said she is under the age of 13.

Investigators are also withholding the exact relationship between Scott and the girl, but said they do know one another.

Scott was arraigned in Eaton Municipal Court June 19.  According to deputies, the case will be presented to a grand jury July 2.
