GRATIS, Ohio (WDTN) - Flames and smoke poured from a home in the 5600 block of Brubaker Road just after 7 a.m. Saturday.

When fire crews arrived, they found the home fully engulfed in the blaze.

According to officials, the fire consumed first and second floor, and they had to attack the flames from the outside.

Firefighters said five to seven tankers were on scene to bring in water to extinguish the blaze.

No one was home when the fire sparked.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, but officials believe it may have started with a wood furnace in the basement.

Firefighters said the home is a total loss.
