EATON, Ohio (WDTN) - Preble County sheriff deputies thought they were checking out a suspicious vehicle at a residence.
They ended up finding items used to make meth and were forced to tase an unruly man.
Deputies were called to 2968 Eaton-Gettysburg Road early Wednesday about a car pulled up to the empty residence.
A meth lab on that property was just shut down October 5.
Deputies arrived to find the former owner taking items from a shed and loading them into his car.
Deputies say the suspect, Jerry Worley, 54, resisted arrest. He fought with deputies who were forced to use their tasers and mace to get Worley under control.
No one was hurt, but Worley was hauled off to the Preble County Jail.
He is now facing theft charges as well as resisting arrest and assault on a peace officer.
Prosecutors now have the case to decide on formal charges.
