WEST CARROLLTON, Ohio (WDTN) -  SummerFest 2012 will kick off Saturday, June 30 at Wilson Park, said West Carrollton city officials.

The annual event, which goes to benefit the YMCA's Strong Kids program, will feature a 5k race, live music and a Wright-B flyover. The 5k race kicks off the fesitval which will begin at 10:30 a.m. at West Carrollton Middle School. SummerFest 2012 will conclude at 6 p.m.

"Each year, we aim to have activities for every age group," said Peg Rinaldi, festival coordinator. "We're excited to add to the list of activities that might appeal to teenage kids and young adults," she said.

Various vendors and organizations will be on hand. Last year's event drew about 5,000 people and raised over $3,000 dollars for local charities and organizations.
