DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - WDTN-TV and 2 NEWS are set to launch high definition newscasts this weekend.

“We are extremely excited to give the viewers of 2 NEWS what they’ve been asking for,” said Steve Diorio, the station’s news director. “This is a multi-million dollar investment into our news product that demonstrates our commitment to local news and weather in Dayton and the Miami Valley.”

2 NEWS will launch a new look to coincide with the move to high definition. A new state-of-the-art studio with a user-friendly set for our news team has been constructed to better interact with our viewers.

The new set features award-winning photos from three local photographers in addition to state-of-the-art video display monitors.

Viewers will enjoy new graphics and music package that have been specially designed for the HD launch.

FX Group designed and constructed the studio set. FX Group’s motion graphics team also designed the new on-air look for 2 NEWS. Stephen Arnold Music created the music package that will be used for all newscasts.

2 NEWS viewers will also be able to watch 2 NEWS at 10 on Dayton’s CW in high definition. This will be the only local 10 p.m. newscast in high definition.

WDTN-TV’s first newscast in high definition will be 2 NEWS at 6 p.m. on Saturday, July 21st.
