DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - Dayton Police have a suspect in custody in connection to fatal shooting on Gettysburg Avenue early Wednesday morning.

Brian Holloman, 45, surrendered shortly after the shooting and then was placed under arrest about 10:30 a.m.

Sergeant Dan Mauch told 2 NEWS the shooting was the result of an ex-boyfriend/girlfriend argument. He said Holloman and a woman were arguing when the woman's son, 25-year-old Quinton Stone came to defend her.

He started smashing windows with some type of landscaping tool, and that's when Mauch said Holloman came outside started firing shots, killing Stone and striking another woman in the leg.

Stone was pronounced dead at the scene.

The woman was taken to Miami Valley Hospital and was expected to recover.
